In Eindhoven, there’s a hotel that was once a church. What you see here is the hotel part, and if you pass through the doors on the right you’ll reach the church part they use for shows and so on. However, the real deal was the carpet you can see on the lower right. This illusion is so well done, I had to stand on it to believe that it’s just a print on the carpet. I wonder if the thinking behind it is “How can we make it so that when people get up from the sofa, we want them to feel like they’ll fall if not careful?” – “I don’t know, but hold my beer”.
