New Photo: The Hidden Stay

This is a drone shot from Lapland – and if you look carefully, you notice several tracks in the snow on the frozen lakes. These tracks are from the night before when we tried to hunt for the aurora and find the best compositions. I am not very comfortable walking on ice, simply for fear that it may break, but … it didn’t. Win!

New Photo: Winter Wonder Hole

Lapland at minus 35 degrees offers so many amazing compositions! Just look at this one – this is a frame made out of a frozen and snow-covered tree, showing completely frozen branches that complement a frozen hole to look at frozen trees with a snowy undisturbed foreground!

Images like this make me think – Back before they built these bridges, getting around was a super pain! For every little trip, you had to take some sort of boat, navigate the currents, and ideally not crash into random rocks … Amazing how over the last many years we managed to remove many of these obstacles.

New Photo: View Recovered

I am not a great drone pilot – at all. I fly slow, always scared a bird is gonna crash into my drone. As a result, I do at times forget to check the actual camera settings – and as a result of that result, I sometimes get completely underexposed images. This photo here is one of those – it was completely underexposed. I managed to recover some details, but any zoom might reveal some strange colored pixels. Still – works for screens, so I take it!

Iceland has many hidden gems. This is a place that we thought was a hidden gem! Turns out, it’s not so hidden anymore. One of the friends I was travelling with went here years ago, and by that time you had to park in the middle of nowhere, walk through a field for 40 min, and arrive at this location. Well, now you arrive at a proper parking slot, paved walkways with fences, and a mass of people.
