Here is a scene from the frozen landscape in Lapland – it reminded me of the ocean waves, but due to the repeating pattern, it creates a sweet depth in the image! Combine this with a dream sunset and you have a great capture of a very cold memory.
Riisitunturi is a national park in Lapland that has these lovely scattered trees all around – at least towards the higher points. While they are super impressive when fully covered in snow, they also look awesome from the top!

The trick with snow is to find interesting compositions – and to not get blind to the little things! This is a great example – I wasn’t really sure what composition to use here until I realised these little snow piles on the ground.
If you like winter scenes, you will love Lapland! Beautiful shapes in the snow, sunsets that create a golden touch on the ground and trees – what else could you want! Some hot wine maybe, but that’s a different story.
