This monkey (and many other animals) was raised in captivity in Costa Rica. Many of them were abused by gangs – for example, being drugged and used for fights. Its sad – read the full story over on the blog!

Hummingbirds are fast and loud – and they stand still for maybe 2 seconds before vanishing into thin air again. In this case, I got lucky – but can you find the other animal that jumped into the frame?

Looks like any other squirrel, right? That’s because it is – but it is cute! If you visit certain hotel complexes in Costa Rica, they will hang bananas around the arrival area to attract animal life. You know, gotta put on a show for the tourists. In this case, it worked and attracted this little guy here. He ate a full banana – but stopped every now and again to look at us as we were looking at him.

While in Costa Rica, I was standing around in front of our hotel room – which, like everything, was quite close to the edge of the jungle. As I was staring into the jungle, the jungle actually stared back in this case!

Flamingos are really rather fun to watch. Initially, their movements seem quite chaotic, but once you look at them for a while, you do realize that there is a certain grace to what they do and how they move.
