This image is a happy ending to a failed plan. This is Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which is more than just famous and HUGE! The pagoda in the picture is not eve the part I wanted to get a picture of initially. There is a main hall just behind me (from the point of the picture) that would have been even more stunning for a sunset. However, as usual when I make a plan like this, the main halls exterior was completely covered in plastic and is being renovated. Hugh.
Being sad, I walked back towards the entrance when this scene unfolded in front of me – and I was happy to jump on that op!
