New Photo: Fisherman in Sorrento
As a coastal city, Sorrento (Italy) has dozens of beaches. I was there off-season, so there were no tourists at all – and in the evenings, some locals would gather along the coast and simply fish into the sunset.
It must be pretty amazing and soothing to be able to just walk to the beach in 10 min and then fish for an hour into sunsets such as this one. Some fisherman were alone, some in small groups, but there was no talk or chatter – only the water moving along the stones. I even felt like the noise my camera shutter made was too loud in this situation, so I just took some pictures and then decided to leave them in peace. I am sure there are enough months in the year where tourists make scenes like this simply impossible.
